KU Hospital Gets $10 Million Gift for Expansion

The University of Kansas Hospital has received its largest gift to date for construction of a new building in Kansas City, Kansas. Officials say Annette Bloch has made a matching donation of $10 million, which will be used for an addition known as the Cambridge North Tower.  Alex Smith reports.

The proposed 92-bed addition north of 39th street will house neurology, oncology, and ear, nose and throat services. The University of Kansas hospital says the new facility will be home to 100 new doctors and provide 600 new health care jobs. The hospital has until June of 2016 to raise the matching funding. KU aims to raise a total of $279 million. Thirty-four million has been raised so far. Alex Smith, Heartland Health Monitor.
