KU Cancer Center Recognizes Senator Susan Wagle

Kansas Senate President Susan Wagle was recognized at the Statehouse today (THUR) for her support of cancer research. Wagle is a two-time cancer survivor. University of Kansas Chancellor Bernadette Gray-Little praised Wagle for her hard work in the Legislature.


Wagle was given the 2013 University of Kansas Cancer Center Leadership Award. Gray-Little says support from Wagle and other lawmakers helped make it possible for the KU Cancer Center to be awarded a National Cancer Institute designation last year.

Kansas Senate President Susan Wagle, a two-time cancer survivor, is the recipient of the 2013 University of Kansas Cancer Center Leadership Award. Wagle says she appreciates the award and she’s excited about the coalition formed in Kansas to help fight cancer.


At today's (THUR) Statehouse award presentation ceremony, KU Chancellor Bernadette Gray-Little said support from Wagle and other lawmakers helped make it possible for the Cancer Center to be awarded a National Cancer Institute designation last year.
