"Screamin' Dingo" - KU Aerospace Engineering Students Flying High with New Award

In the future, not all aerospace engineers will come from the University of Kansas, but some of the best and brightest will. A team of KU aerospace engineering students recently took First Place at an international aircraft design competition. And, as KPR's J. Schafer reports, it's not the first time KU students have claimed the top prize.

Last week, KU students and their Australian team members, from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, presented their "Screamin' Dingo" design to the world's foremost committee of aircraft designers. The committee, with members from NASA, Boeing, Airbus, Cessna, Lockheed and the U.S. Air Force, lauded the students for producing the top new student aircraft design in the world. The student presentation took place at SciTech 2017 in Grapevine, Texas.
