KS Cash Flow Loan Triggers Tax Cut Debate

The state of Kansas is loaning itself $675 million to avoid cash-flow problems as it transitions from one budget year to the next. The loan was okayed by legislative leaders and the governor Thursday at a meeting of the State Finance Council.

But as Jim McLean of the KHI News Service reports, the meeting also triggered a new round of debate about Governor Sam Brownback’s tax cuts and their impact on the state budget.
