The Kansas Board of Regents has set the goals for a committee searching for a new Emporia State University president. The goals include keeping the interview process confidential and seeking a diverse pool of candidates. Andy Tompkins is the president of the Board of Regents. He’ll serve on the search committee, which will interview candidates and recommend up to 5 finalists to the Regents. Tompkins says they’ll want someone who can help the university raise funding, but they’ll be looking for a lot more than just that.
Tompkins says they’d like to have a new Emporia State president in place early next year. Michael Lane is the current ESU president. He’ll be stepping down at the end of June after more than 4 years in the job.
