KS Advocates for Medical Marijuana Hope for Hearing

(Flickr Photo by Rusty Blazenhoff)Advocates for medical marijuana in Kansas are asking for open hearings on the topic in legislative committees. Senator David Haley, a Kansas City, Kansas Democrat, spoke to around 50 supporters during a recent Statehouse rally.

Bills to legalize marijuana for medical use have been introduced in both chambers. Lawmakers considered medical marijuana legislation several years ago after a push by former Kansas Attorney General Bob Stephan, who is a cancer survivor.
