The Republican running for governor of Kansas has proposed an unorthodox reform for the state’s Medicaid program. Secretary of State Kris Kobach says he plans to combine KanCare with a payment system called “direct primary care,” sometimes known as concierge medicine. But, Nomin Ujiyediin of the Kansas News Service reports Kobach’s claims of big Medicaid savings are unrealistic.
