Knology Takes Over Former Sunflower Broadband Facilities

Knology, Incorporated -- a Georgia-based cable TV company -- held a ribbon-cutting ceremony in Lawrence today (TUE) to celebrate its entry into the local media marketplace. Knology acquired Lawrence-based Sunflower Broadband last October. Knology CEO Rodger Johnson says other than the name change, customers won't see many changes.

Knology paid about $165 million to acquire Sunflower Broadband. The sale included Sunflower's cable and phone service as well as Channel Six News and Free State production facilities.
