KDOT Campaign Sponsoring Poster Contest for Kids

The Kansas Department of Transportation is reminding kids about its annual "Put the Brakes on Fatalities" poster contest. Kim Stich says the contest is open to children ages five through 13.

There will be regional winners selected in each age group. Prizes include bicycles and helmets from the Safe Kids Kansas organization. Family prizes will also be awarded. Those include a stay at the Salina Marriott hotel and $50 gas gift cards from QuikTrip. Entries must be postmarked by September 14th. For more information, visit www.ksdot.org.

Poster Contest to Highlight Program Urging Safer Roadway Driving

A reminder is coming from the Kansas Department of Transportation about its annual "Put the Brakes on Fatalities" campaign. K-DOT spokesperson Kim Stich says that Kansas kids can take part in a poster contest.

Stich says the posters can display any idea that is related to staying safer on Kansas roadways, from not using cellphones while driving, to wearing seatbelts or paying special attention in work zones. Winners will receive prizes, including bicycles and safety helmets. Entries must be postmarked by September 14th. For more information, visit www.ksdot.org
