Kansas Unemployment Rate Drops Slightly in September

The unemployment rate in Kansas was 4.4 percent in September, down from 4.6 percent in August, but slightly above September 2014. The Kansas Department of Labor says the state gained more than 4,000 jobs last month. The biggest job gains over the last year have been in construction followed by business and professional services. Manufacturing and the government sectors have lost jobs in Kansas over the last year.
