Kansas Spent Nearly a Million Dollars In Losing Effort to De-Fund Planned Parenthood

In 2016, Kansas set out to cut off Planned Parenthood’s Medicaid funding after then-Governor Sam Brownback vowed to defund the organization. Planned Parenthood sued the state and last month Governor Laura Kelly’s administration dropped the matter but not before the state had spent  $899,000 dollars fighting to withhold funds for the organization.
