Donald Trump will officially be sworn in as president Friday, and Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach will be there. He was an early Trump supporter and campaigned on behalf of the president-elect. Kobach says he was invited by the Trump family to see the inauguration in person.

“I’ve never been to an inauguration before and the estimates range from a little below a million to as many as two million people descending on Washington. It’s going to be exciting,” says Kobach.

“They have multiple sections on the mall and I think the VIP section is supposed to be closer, so maybe I won’t need binoculars, but I’m not expecting to be that close at all."

Kobach wouldn’t comment when asked if he’s considering any jobs in the administration. Kobach has had meetings with Trump recently and served on the transition team, which have fueled speculation that he could take a job in Trump’s government.
