Kansas Officials Urge Disaster Preparedness

September is Emergency Preparedness Month, and public safety officials are urging Kansans to take it seriously. Sharon Watson, with the Adjutant General’s Department, says everyone should think NOW about what they would need to ride out an emergency, especially in cold weather.

Residents are urged to prepare emergency kits that contain important documents...along with enough food, water and medicine to last at least three days.
