KDOT officials are closely watching the weather and are ready to keep the highways clear.

The National Weather Service is predicting the first snowfall of the season in northeast Kansas tomorrow night. The Kansas Department of Transportation says it's prepared for the snowstorm. KDOT's Clay Adams says more than about 1200 drivers have completed training and are ready to plow and treat the state's roads.

KDOT has stored 130,000 tons of salt and 60,000 tons of a salt/sand mix in preparation for the season
