A recent report indicates that some people are now turning to payday lenders to get cash for household staples such as grocery and rent money. Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt says his office does hear from borrowers about several kinds of loans:
Schmidt said that while the high-interest loans are legitimate, they're not necessarily desirable. He said that borrowers need to be aware of the interest they'll have to pay.
