James B. Steele & The Betrayal of the American Dream

As you prepare to file your tax returns next Monday, join us for this look at the effect of our nation's tax policy on the American dream.  James B. Steele is half of one of the most widely acclaimed investigative reporting teams in the U.S. today; he and his writing partner, Donald Barlett, have won virtually every national journalism award, including two Pulitzer Prizes and two National Magazine awards.  They've also authored eight books; their latest is The Betrayal of the American Dream, a scathing look at how federal tax policies are undermining the middle class.  Steele grew up in Kansas City and graduated from the University of Missouri, Kansas City; he spoke at the Unversity of Kansas on March 6, 2013.

Kaye starts her weekends the same way you do: with Weekend Edition Saturday, Wait Wait Don't Tell Me, This American Life, and To the Best of Our Knowledge. She started at Kansas Public Radio in 2001; in 2006, she became the producer of our weekly public affairs program, KPR Presents. In her spare time, she loves to read, travel, and attend theater.
