INTERVIEW: Governor Brownback Defends Tax Hike; Touts Kansas Job Growth

Kansas Governor Sam Brownback is defending recent moves to raise sales and cigarette taxes in order to balance a state budget, which was hit hard by the governor’s signature income tax cuts in 2012.  Political reporter Steve Kraske, the host of “Up to Date” on KCUR Radio, spoke with the governor Wednesday.  In their interview, the governor argued that critics, including Democrats at the Kansas Statehouse, don't see the big picture.
