Interstate 70 Reopens After Tanker Truck Explosion

KANSAS CITY, Mo - A section of Interstate 70 in Kansas City has reopened after a tanker truck crashed and exploded into flames, forcing the closure in both directions. The nearly two-mile stretch of I-70 had been closed since early yesterday (FRI) after the tanker truck overturned, spilled flammable liquid, and exploded. The wreck pushed the median barriers into the other side of the highway. The driver was injured but has been released from the hospital. The tanker was the only vehicle involved in this wreck, which occurred just west of the Truman Sports Complex.
