Governor-elect Sam Brownback is marking the occasion of his inauguration by shining a spotlight on volunteering. Brownback and Lieutenant Governor Jeff Colyer are taking part in three events around the state to encourage Kansans to get involved with their communities. Spokesperson Sherriene Jones-Sontag says that participating in public service has been important to the entire Brownback family:
Brownback participated in a blood drive in western Kansas yesterday (WED) at the Hays Red Cross office. Events today (THUR) and tomorrow (FRI) in Pittsburg and Wichita will focus on helping the less-fortunate.
