I-70 Closed West of Topeka

Interstate 70 west of Topeka is closed due to a standoff between police and the driver of a motor home. Trooper Mark Engholm, with the Kansas Highway Patrol, says an officer stopped the vehicle around 8 o'clock this (WED) morning.

Traffic is being rerouted around the closure. This is the second time this week that I-70 near Topeka has been closed. On Monday, concerns over a vehicle reportedly carrying hazardous materials closed the interstate for more than eight hours.
