For the 30th time in program history, the Kansas Jayhawks have advanced to the Sweet 16 in the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament. Next stop: Kansas City. KPR’s Greg Echlin reports.

KU plays #4 seed Purdue on Thursday. This marks the second consecutive season KU has made it to the Sweet 16 and the ninth time under Coach Bill Self.

The Big 12 Conference has three teams in the Sweet Sixteen (Baylor, Kansas and West Virginia) for the fourth straight year. By comparison, the ACC started the tournament with nine teams but only one remains (North Carolina).
