ATHOL, Kan. (AP) — Restoration work is expected to wrap up soon on a 140-year-old north-central Kansas cabin where the state song, "Home on the Range," was written. The Hays Daily News reports that with the exception of two end walls, the cabin has been totally reconstructed. Crews also are rebuilding the roof. Landscaping and a nature trail also are planned. The official dedication won't happen until October 2014.
