SALINA, Kan. (AP) — A Kansas livestock expert is warning ranchers and farmers that historically high cattle prices make their herds a prime target for thieves looking to make a quick buck. Extension agent Anthony Ruiz tells the Salina Journal ranchers should brand their cattle and install cameras on their property to keep an eye out for rustlers.

Fire Danger in SE Kansas, Plains States
OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — The National Weather Service is warning of a continued high fire danger across Oklahoma and into Arkansas, followed by a cold front that may bring freezing rain to eastern Oklahoma and northwestern Arkansas. Warm temperatures in the 60s and 70s and southwesterly winds gusting up to 35 miles per hour are forecast through today (SUN). The cold front is expected to move across the region Sunday night through Monday morning, dropping temperatures to near or just below freezing.

Olathe Man Charged in Fatality
OLATHE, Kan. (AP) — A man has been charged with involuntary manslaughter and driving under the influence in a deadly crash at a northeast Kansas intersection. The Star reports that 32-year-old Souksavanh Chamnongchith is jailed in Johnson County on $100,000 bond.
