In golf news, Tom Watson is three shots behind a trio of early leaders at the U.S. Senior Open in Omaha. Watson won the U.S. Open Championship in 1982, but has never been able to win the Senior Open...despite finishing as the runner-up three times. Watson says he's glad he's within striking distance this year.
Another Kansas resident in the field is 53-year old Mark Elliott, an amateur golfer from Topeka. He's on the Omaha Country Club course this (THUR) afternoon, playing in his first U.S. Senior Open.
