Gas Prices Rise Slightly in Kansas

The price for crude oil has risen to around $50 a barrel, pushing gas prices slightly higher.

Gas prices in Kansas have gone up in the past week, climbing 3 cents on average across the state. Jim Hanni from AAA of Kansas says crude oil prices rose to more than $50 per barrel as the market considered the possibility of OPEC countries cutting production. Hanni says last week's hurricane in the Atlantic also had an impact.

No refineries were in the path of the storm, however and all the ports will reopen soon, so normal supply chains should be up and running in the next few days snd gas supply experts say there are signs that OPEC might NOT reduce production. Today in Kansas, the lowest price at the pump is $1.87 a gallon at several locations in southeast Kansas.
