Free State Film Festival to Open in Lawrence

The inaugural Free State Film Festival gets under way in Lawrence this weekend, featuring both locally-produced films and movies that are making the rounds of the festival circuit nationwide. Marlo Angell is the festival director, and she says the idea for the event grew from the success of the Lawrence Arts Center's existing short film festival.

The Free State Film Festival begins tomorrow (FRI) at the Lawrence Arts Center, and runs through Sunday. For more information about the films that will be shown and ticket prices, visit www.freestatefilmfest.com.
