The University of Kansas and Kansas State University have sent a combined total 11 athletes to the Olympics in Rio, just to compete in the track and field events. Of the 11, four are Americans. As Kansas Public Radio’s Greg Echlin explains, discus thrower Mason Finley, a former Kansas Jayhawk, has strong family ties to the Lawrence and Kansas City areas.
