The U.S. attorney’s office for Kansas has set up an Election Day hotline to take reports of any problems at polling places. Acting U.S. Attorney Tom Beall says they’ll be ready to respond to issues like voter intimidation, voter impersonators or anyone trying to buy votes.
Beall doesn’t expect any problems, but says people should report anything suspicious to 913-551-6730.
“We coordinate with the FBI and with the Kansas secretary of state’s office and just try to gather people’s concerns and get them directed to the proper agencies,” says Beall.
Beall says this is something the office normally does and it’s not being prompted by the talk of a so-called “rigged election” in the presidential campaign.
