Favorite Interviews of 2014

December 28, 2014: As the year comes to a close, we'll hear three favorite author interviews of 2014. Cary Elwes is best known for his portrayal of the Dread Pirate Roberts in the 1987 film, The Princess Bride. He takes us behind the scenes in his new book, As You Wish. We'll also hear from Timothy Schaffert, author of The Swan Gondola, recently named one of the best 100 books of the year by the Kansas City Star. This love story is set at the 1898 World's Fair in Omaha, with a little Wizard of Oz twist. KPR Presents host Kaye McIntyre also talks to Becky Blades of Kansas City, author of Do Your Laundry or You'll Die Alone: Advice Your Mom Would Give You if She Thought You Were Listening. Do Your Laundry was just named one of the best indie books of the year by Kirkus Reviews.

Kaye starts her weekends the same way you do: with Weekend Edition Saturday, Wait Wait Don't Tell Me, This American Life, and To the Best of Our Knowledge. She started at Kansas Public Radio in 2001; in 2006, she became the producer of our weekly public affairs program, KPR Presents. In her spare time, she loves to read, travel, and attend theater.
