Dole Leadership Prize Recipient Senator Tom Harkin

Dole Institute Director Bill Lacy with Former Senator Tom Harkin (D-IA)

Week of April 14th, 2019: Former U.S. Senator Tom Harkin (D-Iowa), recipient of the 2017 Dole Leadership Prize from the University of Kansas Dole Institute of Politics.  As a young senator, Harkin crafted the legislation that would become the landmark ADA, the Americans with Disabilities Act.  In this October 2017 event, Harkin talks about the ADA, his relationship with Bob Dole, and his long career in politics. This show was originally broadcast on April 22nd, 2018.
