Documentary Film Series to Detail Kansas Water Use

The Kansas Natural Resource Council will be making a series of documentary short films about water. The films will examine how Kansans use water, think about water, and cover some of the controversies surrounding the use of water. KPR's Laura Lorson talked with filmmaker Christie Scanlin Dobson and Sharon Ashworth, the program manager for the KNRC, about the project, which is called "The Waters of Kansas." Ashworth says that talking about water can be complicated for a variety of reasons.

Christie Scanlin Dobson is a documentary filmmaker based in Lawrence. Sharon Ashworth is the program manager for the kansas Natural Resource Council. They talked with Laura Lorson about a series of documentary films on issues pertaining to water and water use. The films are in production now...they'll be shown publicly at a variety of sites across the state at a future date. For more information on scheduled screenings and conversations about water use, visit the KNRC website
