Docking Joins Davis Campaign for KS Governor

Jill Docking is joining Democratic gubernatorial candidate Paul Davis's campaign to unseat Republican Governor Sam Brownback. Docking, a businesswoman from Wichita, ran unsuccessfully against Brownback in 1996 for a U.S. Senate seat. At a rally in Topeka today (TUE), Docking said her decision to run for lieutenant governor has nothing to do with past political races, but is about the future of Kansas. She says that future is being threatened by reckless tax policies and cuts to public education.

Docking, a former chair of the Kansas Board of Regents, is also criticizing Brownback for giving in to legislative demands to cut funding to the state's universities.
