The Kansas Department for Children and Families is requesting a $16.5 million budget increase for ch​​ild welfare.

The Kansas Department for Children and Families is asking the legislature for more money to address persistent problems in the state’s foster care system. For the Kansas News Service, Madeline Fox has the details.
