Conservatives Could Make Changes to KS Finance Policy

Barring some surprises in the November elections, Kansas government will again be led by Republicans in the coming year. That's hardly new, but the direction of the Republican party is changing significantly, according to Wichita State University political analyst Ed Flentje (FLENN-jee):

If GOP conservatives win in the general election, Flentje (FLENN-jee) says the most significant change in Kansas policy is likely to be in public finance, with a move to eliminate the state income tax. He says that such a move would likely require a shift in how public obligations are paid for; they'd have to be financed by sales and property taxes.
