Confiscated Merchandise Available Online

If you're looking for a unique gift this Christmas... you might want to check out at a particularly unusual website: Propertyroom.com. That's where police departments from around the country -- including more than 30 from Kansas -- are turning to sell-off confiscated items that could not be returned to their rightful owners. CEO P.J. Bellomo says all kinds of odd things turn up at the website.

The site does feature some more traditional items, such as cell phones, jewelry and electronics. A former police detective who was looking for a better way to turn police seizure merchandise into cash to benefit local communities came up with the idea for the website. The company's CEO says that to date, more than 46-million dollars have been returned to police departments across the country.
