He says a year ago he wouldn’t have thought he’d be working in Kansas to help a Republican facing a tight race.
“But that’s what happens when real leaders make tough decisions. So what we stand for at the RGA is standing up for any of our colleagues who are making those tough decisions and make sure the public has a very clear understanding of what they’ve done and what their opponent represents,” says Christie.
The RGA has been buying ads in Kansas in support of Brownback and Christie has visited the state three times.
Christie won’t make any predictions on how many Republican governors will win reelection this year, nationally. He says in 36 races for governor there are 22 Republicans defending their seats.
