Canola Crop Produces Food and Fuel in Kansas

Canola has been gaining traction in the U-S as a healthier choice for cooking oil. It’s also emerging as an option for biodiesel fuel. As KPR's Eric Durban reports, the all-purpose oil plant is giving Kansas farmers a companion to the state’s more traditional crops.

KPR's Eric Durban is one of several reporters working on a project called Harvest Public Media, which involves public radio and TV stations in Kansas, Missouri, Iowa and Nebraska. Harvest Public Media explores the issues of agriculture in the Midwest. Learn more online at HarvestPublicMedia.org. That's Harvest Public Media - DOT - org.
