Brownback's Endorsements Carry Political Risk

Governor Sam Brownback speaking to reporters. (Photo by Stephen Koranda)Republican Governor Sam Brownback could be taking a gamble by endorsing some GOP candidates in the August primary elections. That’s according to Kansas State University Political Science Professor Joe Aistrup (A-strup). Brownback has endorsed conservative candidates who are trying to unseat moderate Republicans in the state senate. And according to Aistrup, if moderates keep control of the Senate, they'll be less inclined to support Brownback’s priorities.

The primary election is August 7.
