Brownback Still Believes Nation Will Avoid Fiscal Cliff

Brownback speaking during an event last month. (Photo by Stephen Koranda)Talks in Washington to avoid the so-called fiscal cliff have slowed, but Governor Sam Brownback is still optimistic. He believes lawmakers will come to some agreement, even if it’s just a plan to delay the fiscal cliff.

Automatic spending cuts and tax increases will take effect in January if lawmakers in Washington don’t come to a budget agreement. Brownback has said automatic cuts to military spending could have a significant impact in Kansas.
