Brownback May Have Best Shot at Saving the Ogallala

Hundreds of people are gathered in Colby today (THUR) for the governor's summit concerning the future of the Ogallala (OH-guh-LAH-LAH) Aquifer. Experts say the huge, underground lake is losing water faster than it can be replaced. Guest Commentator Joseph Aistrup (A-strup) says Governor Brownback may be well-positioned to help save the aquifer from running dry.

Guest Commentator Joseph Aistrup (A-strup) is a professor of political science at Kansas State University. He's also one of the principal investigators for a National Science Foundation grant studying the Ogallala (OH-guh-LAH-LAH) Aquifer. Professor Aistrup also writes op-ed columns for Insight Kansas.
