Governor Sam Brownback and state officials are urging Kansans to prepare for the storm that’s sweeping across the state. Brownback says the winter weather has already caused one fatality in Kansas. He says it could be as bad or worse than the storm that hit the state just days ago. Ice and snow-packed roads will make travel difficult. Brownback is repeating a familiar message heard over the last week.

Adjutant General Lee Tafanelli says Kansans should have enough food, water and medicine on hand to last for three days. KDOT staff says there will be nearly 600 plows working to clear roads and highways in Kansas.
