Bob Schieffer & Frank DeFord

Bob Schieffer with KU journalism student Jackson Kurtz

May 14, 2017: a William Allen White Day double-header!  CBS newsman Bob Schieffer talks about his six decades in the news business, plus his thoughts on President Trump and his relationship with journalists.  We'll also hear an encore broadcast from the 2013 William Allen White Day at the University of Kansas, with sportswriter Frank DeFord.  DeFord recently announced he was stepping down from NPR after 37 years of sports commentaries.

Kaye starts her weekends the same way you do: with Weekend Edition Saturday, Wait Wait Don't Tell Me, This American Life, and To the Best of Our Knowledge. She started at Kansas Public Radio in 2001; in 2006, she became the producer of our weekly public affairs program, KPR Presents. In her spare time, she loves to read, travel, and attend theater.
