Blood Center Running Low, Asking Public for Donations

Very limited supplies of blood have the Community Blood Center asking for help from the public. Leann DeLong is with the Community Blood Center's Topeka office.

"Right now, we are in need of both type O and B blood. We are at like a half-a-day or a day's supply."

DeLong says O-negative donors are especially needed. Donors must be 17 years old, or 16 with parental consent, in good health and weigh at least 115 pounds. The Community Blood Center supplies about 70 hospitals in Kansas and Missouri.
