Are You Prepared? DG County Offers Free Training

What if -- in just three days -- you could learn how to be prepared for almost any kind of disaster? That's the idea behind three days of free training being offered in Lawrence this weekend. KPR's J. Schafer spoke with Teri Smith, the director of Douglas County Emergency Management, about those training classes...and about the kinds of things participants will learn.

That's Teri Smith, director of Douglas County Emergency Management, speaking with KPR's J. Schafer. Smith was talking about this weekend's CERT (sirt) training, or... Community Emergency Response Team training. The three-day preparedness training begins Friday. The classes are free to the public but you must register for them.
