AAA: October Is the Time for Winter Car Upkeep

Now is the time for drivers to winterize their vehicles. Jim Hanni (HAY-nee) with Triple-A Kansas says the organization responded to more than 33,400 calls for emergency road service in Kansas last winter. October is Car Care Month, Hanni (HAY-nee) says now is the time for drivers to perform preventive maintenance to help avoid a cold-weather breakdown. He points out that most car batteries have a service life of 3-5 years.

Hanni (HAY-nee) advises that car owners should also check their tire pressure and tread depth, make sure their wipers are working, and find a local repair shop they can trust.
