Kansas corrections officials say the next prison built by the state will be fully air-conditioned, including the cells for inmates. The union representing Kansas corrections officers says a lack of air conditioning contributed to inmate unrest earlier this summer at the maximum-security prison in El Dorado.

Three bodies were found Sunday near Lawrence.

Bodies of three people were discovered in a neighborhood southwest of Lawrence and at the parking lot of the Baker Wetlands Conservation Center.

The ruling is seen as a setback for the Topeka-based Westboro Baptist Church which protests funerals using anti-gay signs and chants.
