This month, the KPR conference room is featuring “Gumbo Girl,” a collection of collages by artist and University of Kansas alumna Joelle Ford. The art centers around the nostalgia of growing up in the 1950s with visuals taken from magazines and family photographs. “Gumbo Girl” explores this time period through the perspective of a young girl in the South.

FBI Director Christopher Wray is testifying before the House Judiciary Committee for an oversight hearing. He is likely to face questions about the Russia investigation led by special counsel Robert Mueller. Last week, former national security adviser Michael Flynn pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI about his conversations with the Russian ambassador. The hearing also comes days after President Trump attacked the FBI on Twitter, saying "its reputation is in Tatters," citing the investigation of Hillary Clinton's private email server under former Director James Comey.

Four public media stations in Kansas, including Kansas Public Radio, will receive a $502,327 grant from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) to establish a regional news collaboration.

The partnership, led by KCUR in Kansas City, will produce multimedia reports on statehouse politics, health, education, natural resources, rural life, and agriculture. The CPB grant, which was announced in September, provides funds for the hiring of four journalists at the partner media outlets for two years, with station support continuing in outlying years.
