With the Tommy Ruskin Trio. Two super sax men who together are sheer dynamite - another show stopper for sure. Scott is long overdue for a return to Topeka, having appeared here last at the 2001 Topeka Jazz Festival. Prior to that, he was on our TJW staage in 1985, 1990 & 1995. Harry is getting to be almost a regular with us, it seems, as he is in great demand by all the musicians, not just us. Our old friend, Tommy Ruskin, will be putting together thte rhythm section for this one.

Artemis String Quartet
Among the very good quartets playing inter¬nationally, the “Artemis ensemble is the best.” The reason: “Ranging from Beethoven to Ligeti, their performances overflow with fullness of sound, delineated structure and unparalleled drama” (national German newspaper Frank¬furter Allgemeine Zeitung). The Artemis Quartet garners equally high praise wherever they go. With their ability to tell a compelling narrative with musical gestures that are natural and un¬forced, this Berlin-based quartet will play late Beethoven’s Opus 127, as well as the fiery Opus 59, No. 3 “Razumovsky” quartet.
