When The Well Runs Dry is a half-hour documentary made by Steve Lerner, a Lawrence, Kansas filmmaker, with award-winning documentary filmmaker Reuben Aaronson, from Los Angeles. The film was funded by a grant from the Kansas Humanities Council.
This film tenderly portrays the vital connection that rural Kansans have with water, our most precious resource.
When The Well Runs Dry will premiere on Saturday, July 18th at 2 p.m. in Florence, Kansas at the Masonic Center (417 Main Street Florence, KS).
Lunch will be served by reservation only, starting at noon, at the Doyle Creek Mercantile.

The Tallgrass Express String Band will performing for free during this time and anyone can come to listen.
Following the premier there will be a panel discussion moderated by Tom Averill, founder of the Center for Kansas Studies at Washburn University.
The Premier is a free event to help spread awareness and expand the conversation about water in Kansas.
