Topeka Symphony Orchestra Concert, Feb. 14, 2015

Spend Valentine's Day with the Topeka Symphony! The concert begins with Charles Griffes' lush tone poem The Pleasure Dome of Kubla Khan, followed by Edward Elgar's passionate and beautiful Cello Concerto featuring TSO Principal Cellist Ellen Lind. Originally from Illinois, Lind is the founder and co-owner of the Oread Strings, a Lawrence-based quartet. She also is a member of Trio 114 and the Dahlia Trio. Ellen is an adjunct cello instructor at Ottawa University and Baker University, and has a large private teaching studio in Lawrence.

After intermission, thrill to Sergei Prokofiev's stirring music from the ballet Romeo and Juliet as actors from Topeka Civic Theatre and Academy help bring to life one of the greatest love stories of all time. This Valentine's Day concert will be a perfect date for music lovers! Call 785-232-2032 for tickets or visit www.topekasymphony.org for more information.
